Small and charming three bedroom riad in the heart of the Medina.
ABOUT
As boutique as riads come, Souika is a delightful, colourful and beautiful private house deep in Marrakech’s attractive medina (old town). The city’s chaotic main square and raucous, rabbit-warren souks are close by, but they might as well be a world away: this is a place to recharge, a stylish downtime den in which bustle is banished.
ROOMS
There are just three double bedrooms - each charming, each air-conditioned, each with an en-suite bathroom. Its small size means the riad can easily be rented in its entirety by a large family or group.
FACILITIES
That said, Souika is also a couple’s paradise thanks to the real privacy on offer. In particular, amorous duos are directed towards the roof terrace where they can sunbathe by day and enjoy candlelit dinners - on request - by night There’s also a second terrace, a cosy sitting room with a fireplace, a small dining room and Wi-Fi available throughout. Aziz, the friendly full-time houseman, prepares breakfast each day, serves drinks on the roof terrace and, if requested, can even cover child-minding, restaurant bookings or packed lunches. No swimming pool.
MORE INFO
Souika stands out thanks to its traditional but playful furnishings: sea-blue window shutters against red-pink clay walls, plus darkwood furniture, cushioned chaises longues, terracotta plant pots, patterned floor tiles and burgundy rugs. At the heart of it all sits an old orange tree, graceful and unhurried.
The Lawrence of Morocco map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.
Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.
When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
Riad Souika was a perfect base for exploring Marrakech itself - a luxurious and peaceful haven in the heart of the bustling, exciting life of the Medina. Aziz cosseted us outrageously, was always ready with delicious mint tea and pastries on our return, and his cooking was inspired. His lamb and quince tagine was truly memorable.

We had Riad Souika to ourselves, which was a real luxury, especially for the price of a double room! As all the reviews say, Aziz was a great asset, and we found the Riad a peaceful retreat from the hubbub of Marrakech outside.
