Charming little riad in the heart of the medina with friendly staff.
ABOUT: Concealed in the medina, beside Rue de Bacha’s specialist jewellery stores and ten minutes from the Jemaa-el-Fna square, this well-run riad is charming, bijou and very relaxing. In addition to just four rooms, the English-owned Darhani has a plunge pool and high-spec decoration blending traditional with modern. But it’s for spaciousness that the ‘House of Tranquillity’ truly stands out, thanks to its roomy salons and a spectacular, tented roof terrace.
ROOMS: All a good size, the four rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, high ceilings, ornate Moroccan furnishings, air-conditioning, winter heating and Wi-Fi. Three are on the first floor: a twin room and two superior double rooms, both of which have bathtubs. A further double is located on the ground floor.
FACILITIES: The central courtyard’s plunge pool is big enough for a swim, and heated in winter. Around it, three salons and a small music room offer curl-up options, as does that roof terrace, where daybeds and a caidal tent provide comfort for sunbathing, sunset-watching, snoozing or stargazing. If ordered in advance, Moroccan or Western-style dinners – including vegetarian options – may be taken either up there, amid the plant-lined courtyard or within an elegant dining room.
EXTRA INFO: Spa treatments and massages can also be requested via reception. Including breads, fruits, pancakes and yoghurts, the free breakfasts change daily, keeping things fresh.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
Riad Darhani – A wonderful place. All staff there were delightful and very, very helpful and generous with support; we were given a phone to use in case we got lost. The meals were delicious. Omar petitions the service of a local vendor (the gent whose “shop” is at the start of the alleyway into the riad) to cart luggage (a wonderful service). Having him there worked well in several ways – his shop became our visual geographic marker for finding our way “home,” he greeted us when coming & going from the riad, and when asked, he led us to nearby restaurants. We would happily return to Darhani and would recommend it to others.
