4-night multi-city break Fes & Rabat

Rabat is little known to most travellers despite being the capital city.  This quiet town is charmingly civilised and a great alternative to Marrakech.  Offering a refreshingly easy excursion for the visitor, Rabat provides coastal cool with a pinch of culture and sophistication.  The sister town of Sale on the other side of the river is a lovely place to wander...  Then to Fes, the intellectual power house of Morocco with its endless alleys, fascinating historical sites and stunning architecture.  Food is a big thing in Fes and we highly recommend a tasting trail through the ancient medina streets.

Day 1

Fly from London Heathrow or Gatwick to Casablanca.  Private transfer to your riad in Rabat.

Day 2

Breakfast and then out to explore Rabat, its charming streets and historical sites.  Most significantly the lovely architecture of the old city.

Day 3

Breakfast and time to enjoy the sun by the pool before setting off with your driver to Fes.  The drive takes about 3 hours and is mainly on the motorway.  Arrive in Fes and be driven through the frenetic streets to your riad.  Time to soak up the luxurious surroundings before supper.  Perhaps a traditional hammam and massage?

Day 4

Explore this incredible city in the hands of one of our hand-picked official guides for the day.  Visit the major historical sites of Fes and see the famous Fes potteries at work.

Day 5

Breakfast at the riad before some relaxing time by the pool or in the spa; then, following a light lunch, your driver will collect you to take you to the airport.  Fly back to the UK either direct with Ryanair or via Casablanca with Royal Air Maroc.

The best dinner spot was at the riad hotel we were staying, Villa Maroc, where they serve huge platters of meat or fish tagine by candlelight.
