14-night Complete Tour of Morocco

This longer and much more comprehensive tour of Morocco will take you through two of the country's most exciting and beautiful cities: Fes and Marrakech. You will also experience two very different Atlantic ocean locations. You then head south into the Sahara desert. In the Draa valley, experience a night in a desert camp, under the stars... North to Fes, passing through a Morocco that feels more like Switzerland with forests of pine! Then Fes, a total time warp filled with stunning architecture, smells and sounds. Back to Marrakech for a night before your return home.

- This itinerary is a suggestion and can be adapted to your preferences
- The suggested Things-to-do by each hotel are suggestions based on the hotel's location, and are not included in the guideline tour cost.
- This itinerary includes a group A (small) self-drive car which will be delivered to your hotel after your initial nights in Marrakech. We can provide an English-speaking driver for the duration and, of course, larger cars or 4 X 4 are also available.
- Most hotels insist on minimum stays over the Christmas, New Year and Easter periods so some of the short overnight stays may not be possible at these times.

Day 1

Arrive and stay at either Riad Les Yeux Bleus (in the old city) or Tigmi (outside the city).

Day 2

Marrakech (relax or visit Marrakech medina and sights such as the Majorelle gardens).

Day 3

Marrakech

Day 4

Drive to Oualidia (via fishing town of Safi) where you will stay at Hotel L'Hippocampe.

Day 5

Relax on the beach in Oualidia.

Day 6

Drive south, down the coast to Essaouira where you will stay in the charming riad hotel Villa Maroc.

Day 7

Drive to Taroudant where you will stay at Dar Zitoune. Visit the old city of Taroudant.

Day 8

Drive to Skoura and stay at 'Les Jardins de Skoura'.

Day 9

Relax at the hotel, explore the area by foot or car.  We recommend driving to the Todra Gorge and the silver birch filled Dades Valley for the day (2 hours each way) as this makes for a beautiful day with exciting scenery.

Day 10

Drive to Zagora and either stay at Azalai Desert Lodge or opt for an overnight dune camp.

Day 11

Drive across the flat desert to Erfoud where you will stay on the edge of the huge sand dunes in the simple but charming 'Hotel Mohayut'.  Walk on the dunes or go for a camel ride to watch the sunset / sunrise over the dunes.

Day 12

Drive to Fes through the varied landscapes of the Sahara up into the Atlas Mountains, passing through areas that look distinctly Alpine!  Stay at 'Riad Maison Bleue' and enjoy a romantic evening meal in the courtyard.

Day 13

Awake to discover the fascinating and beautiful city of Fes and its medina. Take a guided tour of the city and enjoy the shopping, culture and history of this ancient, walled city.

Day 14

Drive to Marrakech where you will spend your last night before flying home at 'Hotel Les Deux Tours' in the palm groves outside the city. Alternatively, you can fly back from Fes to Stansted airport with Ryanair which will give you an additional day in Fes or to visit the Roman ruins at Volubilis and to see the city of Meknes.

Day 15

Fly home.

We had a fantastic time and all returned very relaxed.

Max,

We had a fantastic time and all returned very relaxed.

We had no problems with any of the transfers, all worked really well and we got to see the same driver several times which was good.

The first hotel, Les Deux Tours, was really relaxing and we loved it.  Trips into Marrakech were awesome.  It is great to know …
